Salutations everyone…. I trust you’re all well? So this month, I’ve been steering towards the darker and more fortifying beers since the throes of winter don’t seem to be too far away. There has been the first frost (on the morning of writing this round-up, nonetheless), so some fortification is definitely going to be needed! I’ve selected another 8 beers, in no particular order and regardless of their quality, I have tasted and marked up each on its own merits, be they many or few. Hopefully this will provide you all with a bit of steer in making your choices over the next few months, even going into the festive period when you’ll all no doubt be looking for some treats to see you through the inevitable repeats of Morecambe and Wise, A Christmas Carol and whatever daft Christmas special the broadcasting companies deign worthy to grace our screens. Just don’t go expecting any Guinness or Mackesons….
That’s your lot for October’s beers, as intimated at the start and in last months article, the beers are darker and more robust. Hopefully you’ll get out and be able to try some of these, along with the food pairings where I’ve suggested. Happy drinking for the run up to Christmas! Pedro.

I've had Baltic Night before and came to the same conclusion. The others sound pretty good though, I'm a big fan of Thornbridge. Have you tried this year's Fullers Vintage Ale?

We have a Fullers pub nearby and the local Waitrose stocks a good range. I got a case of 2012/2013 vintage as my Christmas beer. Moorish!
